Version 3.9-11 of wake2e introduces three new features:
-
A new template file for the wind data,
-
an extension of the result file to output more wind parameters at hub height of the wind turbines,
-
an extension of the result table to display more wind parameters.
New file template for the wind data
Within the new template file the measuring or reference height as well as the coordinates to which the wind data set applies are now compulsory for input. Optional you can supply Weibull parameters averaged over all wind directions, the average wind speed or a wind data set ID.
The new wind data template is the basis for the calculation of additional wind parameters at hub height of the wind turbines which will be displayed and written to the result file by the new version of wake2e.
The new version is downward compatible and you can still use the old wind data template.
Extended result file to output additional wind parameters
The result file displays additional wind parameters at hub height of the wind turbine. Besides the wind speed dependent results (effective and ultimate turbulence intensities) the following list of wind parameters is now available:
-
the slope parameter of the S/N-curve for the wind turbine,
-
the overall extreme of the differences between the design values of turbulence intensity and the calculated effective turbulence intensities [%],
-
the topographical complexity of the wind turbine site,
-
the flow inclination [°],
-
the average air density [kg/m³],
-
the wind zone of the WT site according to DIN EN 1991-1-4/NA,
-
the wind zone of the WT site according to DIBt 2004 Anhang B,
-
the 50-year extreme wind for terrain category 2 [m/s],
-
the 50-year extreme wind for terrain category 1 [m/s],
-
the scale parameter of the Weibull distribution [m/s],
-
the density corrected scale parameter of the Weibull distribution [m/s],
-
the form parameter of the Weibull distribution,
-
the average wind speed at hub height [m/s],
-
the density corrected average wind speed at hub height [m/s],
-
the height exponent of the vertical wind profile for neutral stratification.
Extended result table to display additional wind parameters
All the mentioned wind speed independent parameters will now be displayed in the result table. To make the result table more comprehensible the data was rearranged and the different result section can be collapsed or expanded individually.
We hope that you will appreciate the new features and we are looking forward to your feedback.
